2025 is the 25th year of our annual Food-A-Bago Food Drive. All food and monetary donations go to Broome County CHOW, which in turn helps families in our community who need assistance.

Our food drive is in the parking lot of the Weis Food Market, 1290 Upper Front Street, Binghamton. You'll see the Oliver's Winnebago camper and the Broome County CHOW food truck, and that's where you'll find us! We are here from 7 am to 6 pm through Friday and 8 am to 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

We do have food barrels available for after-hours drop-off.

You never know when something may go wrong - medical issues, job loss, etc., which leaves a family struggling to put food on the table. That's where Broome County CHOW comes in.

CHOW obtains food from many sources, and one of the largest food drives is the Food-A-Bago. That's where you can help with a non-perishable food item or a monetary donation.

I have been a part of this food drive since it began in 2000, and have witnessed so many acts of kindness from our community with donations. Even having the opportunity to meet so many people and get to know them is priceless.

So, normally, over the first few days, donations can be slow, and that's understandable. The food drive goes for just over 7 days. But this year, the food and monetary donations have been amazing over the first three days.

We all know the need is great this year, probably more than in most of the past years of the Food-A-Bago. Big thanks to Gault Auto, who stopped by on Tuesday and loaded up the CHOW truck with eight overflow shopping carts of food, along with a nice cash donation.

Also, thanks to the many individuals who have stopped by with donations. Some of the great people we met over the first three days include Dave, Becky, Beverly, Mark, Judy, Sue, Linda, Amy, Roberta, JoAnne, Donna, Gerald, Vince, Matt, Tim, and the dozens of others who donated food and/or a monetary donation.

We have a very large Broome County CHOW truck to fill with non-perishable food, so there's plenty of room to fill up. Stop by and visit with us, and if you can donate food or money, no matter how small or large, to help families in our community.

By the way, every dollar donation is equal to five meals. That is amazing! Not sure what to donate, food-wise? We have a list, and we'll show you what Broome County CHOW needs.
