For this week's Classic Rock Pick, I've chosen a special song - The Eagles 'Witchy Woman.'

You may ask why I chose that song. Or maybe you don't really care. Either way, the short story is, it's the very first song I played on my very first radio show back in the magical year of 1973. That was also the year I graduated high school. You can refrain from the "wow, he's old" jokes.

Bernie Leadon and Don Henley penned the song in 1972 which is found on the album 'Eagles.' The 'Witchy Woman' they allegedly were referring to, was Zelda Fitzgerald, wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald. The song was released in August of 1972 and topped out at number 9 on the US singles charts. Take a break and enjoy The Eagles performing an extended version of  'Witchy Woman' at a 1977 concert in Houston, Texas.
