The Eagles journey began in 1971 with Don Henley, Bernie Leadon and Glenn Frey. It was the beginning of a long, successful career.

The band membership has had a few different incarnations, including Don Felder, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmidt. Bernie Leadon was the first to leave the band having had the shortest tenure with The Eagles, leaving in 1975. Joe Walsh joined the band shortly thereafter, followed by Timothy B. Schmidt.

The Eagles enjoyed huge success through 1980, after tensions seemed to be too much for the band to continue. 14 years later - May 26th, 1994, The Eagles reunited with Walsh, Henley, Frey, Felder and Schmidt for a "Hell Freezes Over' show in Burbank, California. The now famous quote from Glenn Frey - "For the record, we never broke up, we just took a 14 year vacation." It was a welcome reunion. That first show lasted two and a half hours, and was followed by a tour and live album, 'Hell Freezes Over'. That album topped the US album charts.

The Eagles tour continues across the country this year, including a stop in Atlantic City July 17th and Buffalo July 18th. For this week's Classic Rock Pick, enjoy this great version of 'Hotel California' from a 1977 show in Washington D.C.
