Chenango County Woman Accused of Stealing $155,000

Investigators say a woman is suspected of taking more than $155,000 from a Chenango County business.

Authorities say 43-year-old Amy Grant of New Berlin was arrested Tuesday. She has been charged with grand larceny, scheme to defraud and falsifying business records.

According to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, Grant is accused of embezzling money from her employer in the town of Columbus.

Investigators say the thefts are believed to have taken place over a period of more than five years.

The name of the company where Grant had worked was not revealed.

Grant is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
