The break in the water line at around midday October 24 resulted in a loss of water pressure and concern about microorganisms entering the system.
The Town advised residents to boil all water intended for cooking, consumption or even ice making until two water tests, taken over 24 hours came back negative.

Officials warned that the boil water advisory could run into October 27 but it was finally lifted around noon on the 28th.
