Charitable Fund Set Up by United Way of Broome for Local Charities Dealing with COVID-19
Nonprofits can get some help dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic through a Community Response Fund set up by the United Way of Broome County and funded through several local foundations.
Grants are available to charitable organizations providing critical services.
The Stewart and Wilma Hoyt Foundation, George and Margaret Mee Charitable Foundation and Roger Kresge Foundation have each donated 10-thousand dollars to the fund to go toward meeting the most pressing needs from the pandemic.
The foundations and United Way are working together to accept emergency funding requests.
Funds will be released on a rolling basis as fundraising continues through the outbreak.
