Broome County officials on April 26 report another life lost due to the pandemic.

The death toll now stands at 334.  Broome recorded 98 additional cases for a total of 17,311.  No additional deaths were reported in any of the other Southern Tier Counties.

Chenango added 57 cases from the Friday report. Cortland County reported five new cases from Sunday.  Delaware County reported 11 new cases and Tioga County reported 12 additional cases from the last report on Saturday.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf says new cases of the coronavirus and the positivity rate in the Keystone State are fewer than the previous week.

The rates for Northern Tier Counties also appeared to increase at a slower pace for the week.

Bradford County had 143 new cases for a total of 5,559. The death toll remained at 86.  Susquehanna County had 92 new cases for a total of 2,359. There was one new death for a total of 58. Wayne County had 117 new cases for a total of 3,801. Deaths remained at 76.

The 2020 County Health Rankings values were calculated using mortality counts from the 2016-2018 National Center for Health Statistics. The U.S. Census 2019 American Community Survey and America's Health Rankings Senior Report 2019 data were also used to provide demographics on the senior population of each state and the state's rank on senior health care, respectively.
