Two men wound up in Broome County Jail on burglary charges after a sheriff's deputy checked out a vehicle that wound up stuck in a late-season snow storm.

Authorities say 67-year-old Walter Adams and 38-year-old Ryan Hathaway were found inside a town of Colesville home Saturday after a deputy followed footprints in the heavy, wet snow.

Some items - including firearms - found outside the residence were identified by the homeowner as being stolen.

Adams and Hathaway face several charges including burglary, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

The suspects were transported to the Broome County central arraignment facility for arraignment. They were ordered held pending further court action.

Investigators confirmed firearms were recovered but no other information was released regarding other property that allegedly was taken from the home.
