This Thursday night, April 9th, would have been the home opener for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. The game against Akron would have been the official kickoff of a very exciting season for the Rumble Ponies that includes hosting the 2020 Eastern League All-Star Game. The All-Star game is still scheduled to take place on July 14th and 15th at NYSEG Stadium.

In the wake of the Covid-19 crisis, a lot of sporting events have been canceled or postponed including the start of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies season.  As of now, the season has been delayed until at least May 10th, but that won't stop you from watching the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in action ... sort of.

In a press release regarding the virtual game, J.B. Bayne, Managing Director of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies said,

We support the efforts to stay safe and at home as directed by local officials. We thought we would offer a little fun and entertainment as we all stand together in this time of unity.

And even though it's not the real thing, it might just be enough of a “sports fix” to help you get by until the season starts.

So grab some cold ones, a few hot dogs, and some peanuts or Cracker Jacks, and tune in to root on the “Virtual Rumble Ponies”.
