Binghamton Pools & Carousels Are Set For The Summer Season

Summer is here. Well, unofficially. The calendar says summer will officially begin Tuesday June 21st. But the temperatures say summer, so we'll go with it.

And with the Memorial Day weekend, City of Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham announced that pools in Binghamton will be open. And this year, there will be no fee for the public swimming pools according to the Binghamton Mayor website.

That's good news for everyone, since we know we will be in for some hot days over the next few months, and there's nothing better than cooling off in a swimming pool. The free admission to Binghamton public pools include Recreation Park, Cheri A. Lindsey Park Memorial Park, Webster Street Park, Fairview Park and the spray pad at Columbus Park. The pool summer season begins Saturday May 28th, except for the small pool at MacArthur Park, which will open on Saturday, June 4th, according to the website.

For decades, Binghamton’s parks have provided young people and residents of all ages with safe, fun ways to spend their summer months.  By removing the small fees the City has historically charged for use of public pools, we’re making it easier for families to enjoy all Binghamton’s parks have to offer.” - Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham

And in addition to the official opening of Binghamton public swimming pools, Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham announced that Binghamton's carousels located at Recreation Park and Ross Park will also open for the summer season on Memorial Day Weekend, and of course it's free to ride the carousels.
