Binghamton University's standout guard Sam Sessoms has been selected to the America East Preseason All-Conference Team.  Sessoms was last season's Rookie of the Year, a third-team all-conference selection and averaged 17.8 points per game.

In voting by the league's coaches the Bearcats were picked to finish sixth in the nine-team America East Conference.  Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.  The Vermont Catamounts were the unanimous choice to repeat as the conference champions.  UMBC was picked to finish in second place followed by:

Stony Brook, Albany, UMass Lowell, Binghamton, Hartford, Maine and New Hampshire.

Fans will see plenty of new faces on the court for the Bearcats.  There are ten new players on this season's roster.  Binghamton opens up the new season with a pair of road games.  The Bearcats travel to Ithaca to meet the Cornell Big Red on Tuesday, November 5 for a 7:00 PM game.  They then travel to East Lansing on Sunday, November 10 to meet the preseason top-ranked team in the nation, the Michigan State Spartans.  The following Wednesday the Bearcats travel to Columbia before returning home to host Sacred Heart on Saturday, November 16.

Bearcat Basketball will once again be aired on News Radio 1290 WNBF and CBS Sports Radio 1360 AM.
