And Now For Something Completely Different [Gallery]
You would think that the life of a radio personality is exciting with opportunities to be a part of a lot of awesome experience. And you would be correct. As far as our personal life, well I can't speak for other radio personalities, but mine is rather boring.
I'm one of those people, who for the most part, when I'm not working or attending a radio station function, I'm home chilling out most of the time. Sure, during the summer weekends and vacations, I spend at my travel trailer in a Pennsylvania campground and from time I mobile DJ a gig, but because of the pandemic, that has pretty much dried up for the time being.
It's not for lack of things to do, it's just that I like to relax on the couch with my Greyhounds and binge watch whatever TV show catches my eye. Right now, it's 'Schitt's Creek' starring Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara and 'Away' starring Hilary Swank. One is a great comedy and the other is filled with drama and tense moments.
Anyway, last week, I pried myself off the couch to try out something that would be a challenge and probably a bit uncomfortable. I went to a local paint studio to try my hand at painting a ceramic item of my choice.
I had a difficult time deciding what to paint, but ended up deciding on a travel mug. The next step was to choose up to five paint colors. I had no idea what would look good, so I randomly chose my five colors, found a table to begin the project and then panicked at what exactly I would create with the variety of paint brushes and colors laying out in front of me. The last time I picked up a brush and paint was in art class when I was in middle school.
Since I have no artistic abilities, I just randomly painted circles around the travel mug with the colors I had chosen. After I finished the project, I handed it back, where it will be placed kiln to be fired for a finished look. It will be interesting if it comes out looking better than when I applied paint.
