I like that headline. Sounds like a Lifetime movie. Maybe I should write a script and submit it to them. Who knows, maybe it would be a good movie. I could make a lot of money and retire to the Carribean. Or not.

As long as I can remember, and yes I've been around since ever, every Thanksgiving I've had a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. My favorite is the canned cranberry sauce. Not sure what it is about that solid blob of ugliness, except that it tastes so good.

Normally, dinner happens at the home of a close relative, but this year, that relative is having major work done at home, so dinner there is out of the question this year. Sure, I could have it at my house, but that would require cleaning and that's just not in the cards this year, or any year for that matter.

So, the question is, what to do. I made a quick decision. This year, no turkey. For this first time ever, I'm going out to eat on Thanksgiving. I'm going to a Chinese buffet. I love buffets and I love Chinese food, so it's a win-win. If turkey is offered, I will probably avoid it. The only drawback is, no leftovers for the rest of the week. And no cranberry sauce. Happy Thanksgiving.
