In May 2024, Red Lobster filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. According to CNN.com, so far over 100 of the restaurants have closed their doors.

Now it seems several more will no longer serve those delicious Red Lobster Cheddar biscuits. According to a new court filing, 23 additional restaurants across the United States are planned to be closed by the company, bringing the total of closed locations to around 130.

The court filing is with the United States Bankruptcy Court Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division.

Red Lobster operates throughout the United States and Canada with approximately 500 restaurants and 36,000 employees. Red Lobster is currently in a proposed sale to the Fortress Investment Group.

According to CNN.com, the new owners will place the a former chief executive of P.F. Chang’s, as the new CEO once the Red Lobster chain exits bankruptcy proceedings.

States with Red Lobster restaurants slated to close according to the latest court filing include three in Florida, Illinois, and Virginia, two in Minnesota and New York, and one each in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, and South Carolina.

The two locations in New York State include 25 Hunts Point Avenue in the Bronx and 750 Upper Glen Street in Queensbury. The Red Lobster on the Vestal Parkway and Chambers Road in Horseheads remain open.
