At this point, we would have been two weeks into the Binghamton Rumble Ponies Season. Just like every other sporting event, due to the Coronavirus, the Rumble Ponies season has been put on hold until further notice.

One of the best parts of having Minor League Sports here in Binghamton is you get to see the future stars of pro sports up close and personal. The New York Mets have had their Double A franchise here in Binghamton since 1992.

According to the book An Illustrated History of the Binghamton Mets, between the years 1992 and 2017, 260 players that played in Binghamton made it to the Major Leagues. Some of them only played a few games, some of them have become Major League Baseball Stars.

So when the Rumble Ponies say “come see the future stars of the New York Mets”, it's not just lip service. In fact, 16 members of the New York Mets World Series roster in 2015 played for the Binghamton Mets at some point.
