Another weekend and another chance to get off the couch! We're lucky to have so many active organizations in the Southern Tier; how about visiting them and having fun too?

Here are some of the activities on tap for this and future dates:

For the Love of Horses fundraiser to help Destiny's Equine Horse rescue is Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm. There wil lbe a chicken bbq, vendors, handmade jewelry, door prizes, raffles and more. It's at Lilley Farms, 5116 Highway 41 in Greene.

There's an all you can eat chicken & biscuit dinner at the Maine American Legion Post 1390 on Saturday from 4 to 7 pm.

The Owego Elks Emporium, 223 Front Street in Owego, plays host to an easter Antiques and Collectibles market on Easter Sunday from 8 am to 3 pm.
The Finch Hollow nature Center, Oakdale Road in JC, is taking registrations for the Broome County parks "Nature Fun Club". Children who will be entering first or second grade can be in half day programs, all other grade levels: full day. For more info call 729-4231.

The Conklin Kiwanis Captain & Crew benefit golf tournament is May 31st and teams can sign up now! $300 per team, 1 pm shot gun start, chicken bbq dinner and more. To register, call 722-2114.

Under my Skin For Life is preparing for a fundraiser to upgrade the Wickwire Community Pool. They are looking for craft vendors, local organizations, sponsors, family friendly entertainment, volunteers and more. To help with this June 27th through 29th event, call 310-8487.

Ann's 5k & Kids Fun Run, named after Ann Tripp who has Huntington's Disease is May 17,  at 9 a.m. at Klumpp Park in Windsor. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. Early registration is $20 until May 3, $25 after. Proceeds go to the Huntington's Disease Society of America for research and helping families of people affected by Huntington's.
