This has been a season of disappointment for New York Knicks fans. We came into this season expecting to see our team win their share of games and make a playoff run for an NBA championship; instead we finished 8 games below 500 at 37-45 and fell 2 games short of making the playoffs.

In spite of a season filled with injury and errors the fans remained passionate to the very end of the season as the team ended on a 4 game winning streak and went 7-3 the final 10 games.

I personally watched live or DVR’d and watched back most of the 82 game season and you can say they had injuries but for much of the season I saw a team that was completely out of sync, a group of guys that were not playing like a team on offense and defense.

I know Mike Woodson has said he doesn’t think he should be judge harshly on this season, but it’s his job to get into these guys heads and make then react and communicate like a team, and in my opinion he failed miserably.

Carmello Anthony is the best part of this season he came to play every game and put this team on his shoulders, until he tore one of them and had to sit out the last few games.

I equate this situation to the Detroit Lions, who had a superstar running back named Barry Sanders, but bad management and lack of team chemistry drove him to quit the game when he was still healthy.

I don’t think Melo will be back, this season was difficult for him, he wants an NBA title and with no draft picks and very little cap money, even the great Phil Jackson can’t change that.
