It was a scary night in the MLB.

Possible league MVP GianCarlo Stanton was hit by an 88-mile an hour pitch in the 5th inning. Even Brewers pitcher Mike Fiers, who tossed the bullet, was shocked. Stanton bled from the face which added to the concern.

Stanton was immediately taken to a hospital where he underwent x-rays and a CT scan.

Then, Chase Headley, Yankees third baseman, took a 96-mile an hour pitch in the chin! It was the bottom of the ninth. Luckily, Headley walked off the field under his own power.  Derek Jeter was hit by a pitch, with no serious injury, earlier in that game against the Rays.

UPDATE: Stanton will sit out the remainder of the season after the incident last nigh. He received multiple facial fractures and damaged teeth when the pitch struck his face.
