A sweet deal is now being offered for a limited time and it benefits young entrepreneurs.

No need to contact the Better Business Bureau or consumer investigators, it is not one of those bogus marketing schemes, it is the start of the annual Girl Scouts Cookie Program.

The Girls Scouts of NYPENN Pathways Council officially kicked off the 2022 cookie sales January 11 with a new treat added to the roster.  Maybe in a nod to some of the youngest girls in scouting, the new cookies, Adventurefuls, are a brownie-based cookie with a dollop of salted caramel-flavored crème in the middle.

The new cookie joins favorites: Do-si-dos, Thin Mints, Samoas and Trefoils tempting to break resolutions at five dollars a box.

The annual Girl Scouts fundraiser also teaches life skills, leadership and business skills.  There’s an added chance for the community to donate cookies.  This year, the local program will send donated cookies to first responders a well as recipients of Meals on Wheels for customers who opt to donate.

Cookies are being sold by registered Girl Scouts and there are some no-contact options also available.  Interested customers who don’t know a Girl Scout can go to gsnypenn.org/cookies22 for information on contacting a local troop.

Cookies will be available through March 27.
