What is This Giant Blue Thing Being Driven Through Binghamton?

I'm heading to work, taking my normal route of Main to Court Street in Binghamton. Nothing out of the ordinary, at least for most the ride, until I spot this thing just ahead of me.

I tried to get closer, but I couldn't seem to get directly behind it (one car was between me and this flatbed tractor-trailer). It wasn't the vehicle that peaked my interest, it was what's on the trailer bed.

At first, I thought it was several items that appeared to be shrink-wrapped with industrial strength blue plastic, but as I got closer, it appeared to be one very large item hidden under that wrapping.

I'm not sure of it's final destination, but it did turn onto Front Street heading south, and as I reached my destination of Court and State Streets, here comes another tractor-trailer with the exact payload heading west. At first, I thought my mind was playing tricks on me, but there it was, a second vehicle with the same shaped item wrapped in blue plastic.

So Whale Nation, what were those payloads, and what was their destination? Any clues?
