There have been a few times in my life that people have tried to surprise or scare me. I can't recall a time that it has worked.

For example, when I was 19, I joined the Air Force. My family decided to try to throw me a surprise party, but I figured it out pretty quickly. I was scheduled to join on March 16th, which just so happens to be my Mom's birthday, and clearly, I felt a little bad about it. I decided to turn the tables on everyone at the party by bringing a bouquet of roses for my Mom as a sort of "Guess what? I knew about this party, I knew that my Mom would be here, and here are some flowers for your birthday." Kind of a double-whammy. The joke was on me since she hadn't made it into town yet from Rochester, so I showed up to my own surprise going away party with roses for nothing. It's the thought that counts.

This video was not one of those instances where the surprise didn't work. This dad's reaction was priceless!

According to this guy's YouTube post:

Flew out to Chicago for my dads birthday, he didn’t know I was coming. My mom picked me up and just before we got to the house I hid in the trunk of the car. She asked him if he could grab a few things from the trunk when she got home…"
