Lately, I think we are all having one of those days. Let me rephrase that. I think we are all having many of those days. With the strange times we are experiencing, it's not easy getting through each day with all the changes that have happened.

Whether you are at home all day or an essential worker who has to go into work each day, these times have brought on a new normal that can, and is, becoming very stressful.

I'm having a bit of a rough time adjusting to this new normal, and hoping it will end sooner than later. The jury is currently out on that decision as you know.

I prefer to stay at home as much as possible, but we all need to get supplies and pay our bills, so leaving home from time to time is an necessity, but even so, I find no pleasure in that.

For example, when payday comes around twice a month, that's when I pay a certain amount of bills in person and do my grocery shopping. I now feel uneasy entering grocery stores. It starts with sanitizing the grocery cart and staying 6 feet away from other shoppers which is not easy. I'm trying to keep my temper in check when I see someone handling a lot of produce to find the right one, and then placing back what they don't want. Not good hygiene...not now, anyway.

At checkout, we need to be six feet separated from each other, wait to have the cashier sanitize the conveyor belt, and wait for instructions to pay. Yes, this is necessary and I agree, but it's just hard to adjust to this new normal. I feel for the cashiers, dealing with the added responsibilities and customers who may be less than accommodating. And now we are separated by clear plexiglass.

Even going to the bank has a new meaning. I pay some of my loans in person at the bank. Today, I used the drive up (because you can't go inside the bank), and was met with armed officers inquiring my purpose for coming to the drive up. I explained that it was due day for a few of my loans. Twice I was confronted (in a nice way) about why I was at the drive-up. I'm trying to understand, and certainly not going to be curt to someone who carries a firearm! I could mail my bills in, but had no idea using the drive up would now be more of an inconvenience. Next month, I will pay by mail.

And that was just one day. So, how is your day going?
