Earlier this year (2024) I wrote an article about The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, seeking out those who were in attendance at the 1969 Woodstock Music & Art Fair.

Why are they seeking out these individuals? The goal is to amass a collection of personal stories of those who attended and preserve those memories for future generations to learn about the event that was a huge part of music history.

Museum curators began traveling throughout the country looking for those unique stores since the beginning of the year. According to the Bethel Museum, a major federal grant was awarded from the National Endowment for the Humanities to continue the oral history pop-ups.

Even if you worked at Woodstock, served as a volunteer, or had interactions with any of the organizations that came to Woodstock to aid with the festival, the museum wants to hear your story. The goal is to collect 4,500 Woodstock stories from people who attended the festival.
