These Best categories are decided by online voting, and one venue not far from Binghamton has just been named the 3rd Best in the Best Music Museum category.
That venue is the Museum at Bethel Woods in Bethel, NY, home of the original Woodstock Arts and Music Festival, which was voted in the top 3 of USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers Choice travel awards for Best Music Museum.

Last year, the museum made it into the top 5, so coming in at number 3 is an honor. Bethel had come through tough competition with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum coming in 2nd place and the Johnny Cash Museum in Nashville, Tennessee coming in at number one.
4th place went to the Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma,  which spreads Woody’s message of diversity, equality, and social justice. 5th place to GRAMMY Museum L.A. Live in Los Angeles tells the story of American music.
The cool thing about the museum is that it's not just about the 3-day Woodstock Festival, it is a journey through the 1960s, and that's pretty groovy in my opinion!

Bethel Woods was built on the land where the 1969 Woodstock Arts and Music Festival was held. The field where the concert-goers gathered, stands peacefully as it slopes up to the Bethel Woods complex that includes enclosed pavilions, the museum, and the 15,000-seat outdoor performing arts venue.
