The operators of a downtown Binghamton craft brewery are disputing a police account after an owner and a worker were arrested in a cornonavirus enforcement action.

Authorities said appearance tickets were issued to Water Street Brewing Company owner Kristin Andrascik and employee Nicholas Hall for obstructing governmental administration. Andrascik also was charged with violating a state of emergency declaration.

The charges were filed after officers allegedly found several people drinking inside the bar at 168 Water Street late Wednesday evening.

Andrascik was not available for comment Monday but a Facebook post by the business stated "we did not serve any customers in the building, either before or after closing."

The statement also indicated the business takes Governor Andrew Cuomo's executive order "very seriously."

The post said the entrance to the business had been locked at 8 p.m. Wednesday "and the only people remaining in the building were the employees who worked that shift."
