A Vestal woman is facing misdemeanor charges and a number of tickets after she was seen driving erratically on Route 17 in the Town of Dickinson Tuesday, June 7.

Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies say 33-year-old Courtney Carne was arrested after she was pulled over at around 8 p.m. and performed poorly on field sobriety tests.

Deputies were called about a vehicle swerving in and out of lanes without a turn signal. At one point, the vehicle went onto the shoulder and almost hit a concrete barrier.

Carne was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where a certified drug recognition expert determined she was under the influence of a narcotic.

Carne is charged with misdemeanor counts of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. She was also cited for the violations of Unlicensed Operation, Failure to Use Designated Lane and Improper Signal.

She’s been ordered to appear in Town of Dickinson Court at a later date.
