Authorities say they were made aware of the scam on February 22 where someone says they are a Vestal Police Officer in an attempt to get personal and financial information.  Vestal Police would never request financial information or Social Security numbers over the phone. The Police do not ask for payments over the phone or by credit or gift card.

Anyone who thinks they have been contacted by a scammer posing as a Vestal or other police agency should never give out personal information and contact their local law enforcement agency.

Vestal Police can be reached by calling (607) 754-2111, extension 2.
