UPDATE: Dryden Shooter Turns Himself In

New York State Police say a day after responding to reports of shots fired in Dryden while a woman and child were in the home, the suspected shooter has turned himself in.

Authorities say 32-year-old Eric McLaurin showed up at the Dryden Town Court at around 4 p.m.  March 13 and surrendered.

McLaurin is charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon.  He was sent to the Tompkins County Jail on $6,000 bail.

The investigation is continuing and officials say more charges are likely.

Troopers responded to the home on State Route 366 (Dryden Road) at 2:41 p.m. March 12 with a report of "shots fired."

Residents in the area were told to shelter in place and the Road was closed around the scene for several hours before members of the State Police Special Operations Response Team (SORT) gained access to the house and found McLaurin had left the scene.
