Two Endicott women are facing charges following an early morning traffic stop on Harry L. Drive near Airport Road earlier this month.

Johnson City Police say 39 year old Denise Lubert is charged with two felony counts of tampering with evidence, three misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, failure to use a designated lane and improper signal while 29 year old Sarah Layton is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and consumption of alcohol in a vehicle.

Police say they stopped a vehicle at 2:11 a.m. on July 21st and noticed the odor of marijuana.  An open can of an alcoholic beverage was also seen in the vehicle.

Authorities say they found marijuana and Ecstacy and Lubert is accused of throwing items, including suspected Ecstacy and cocaine to the ground and in the back seat of the police car.

Both women are to appear in Johnson City Village Court August 8.
