Imagine traveling down a highway late at night and seeing porn being shown on a digital billboard. I would probably either wreck my car or just pull over for a while.

Just outside of Detroit, the Auburn Hills Police Department received several calls Saturday night about pornographic images on a digital billboard on Interstate 75. According to Freep, Lieutenant Ryan Gagnon of the Auburn Hill Police stated that the videos played for nearly 20 minutes.

The police contacted the owner of the billboard, Outfront Media, to have them come out and shut the billboard down. Gagnon told Freep that the screen was glowing really brightly because it was dark outside and that no accidents occurred. He also added that it was definitely a huge distraction to drivers.

It is unclear how the videos ended up on the billboard for everyone passing by to see. Within a matter of minutes, multiple videos were being uploaded to social media. The report also stated that charges could still be filed in the case.

I'm sure the owner of the billboard company will be able to figure out what happened. If they were not hacked, and the board was supposed to be showing something else, I'm sure who ever uploaded the video to their system to begin with will be looking for a new job.

To my knowledge, the closest digital billboards to Binghamton are on Rt. 17/ I 86 just outside of Elmira. I wonder if they ever had anything like this happen?
