New York State Police are investigating what caused a tractor trailer loaded with construction debris to roll over, spilling its load across State Route 17 in the Deposit area.

According to a facebook posting by Troop C, westbound lanes were closed for several hours in the morning hours of May 21 while the mess was being cleaned up.

The State Police had no additional information available concerning who owned the truck, where the shipment originated, its intended destination or whether there were any citations issued.

The Southern Tier has a history of seeing crashes involving tractor trailers transporting garbage and construction debris moving through the area and, occasionally, crashing.

There apparently were no serious injuries in the latest crash.
