There are a bunch of outdoor events happening this weekend. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope the weather cooperates. The Lumberjack Festival, July Fest, and St. John’s Ukrainian Festival, are just some of the things you can do this weekend in the Southern Tier.

Here is a list of eight events to choose from;

  • July Fest

    Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the 55th Annual July Fest will take place on Court St. in Downtown Binghamton. Three days full of music, food, and vendors line the streets for blocks. There will also be a 5K run and walk that starts 9am. on Saturday. All the info you need is available on the July Fest website.

  • Lumberjack Festival

    Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the Deposit Lumberjack Festival will be held with food, rides, vendors, fireworks, tractor pulls and more. Get more info on the Deposit Lumberjack Festival website.

  • St. John’s Ukrainian Days

    This Saturday and Sunday will mark the 89th. Annual St. John’s Ukrainian Days, at the church in Johnson City. There will be Ukrainian food, live entertainment, children’s games and more. Their Facebook page has more.

  • Whitney Point Block Party

    Saturday is the annual Whitney Point Block Party, with food entertainment, and more. It’s 11am to 3 pm on Liberty St. in Whitney Point.

  • Dog Gone Fun on the Run

    This Saturday will be the annual Dog Gone Fun On The Run at Otsiningo Park to help raise money for Cancer prevention. It’s a walk where you bring your dogs to walk with you. Registration is at 10 and the walk starts at 11. You and your dog can win prizes and you can meet adoptable dogs there as well.

     

  • Two Twilight Zone Events

    Saturday at Noon at the Bundy Museum, it’s “In The Zone, Rod Serling’s Time Travel”. They will show classic episodes of the show and there will be a questions and answers session to follow.

    Saturday from 4 till 10 p.m. there will be an event at the Forum called “The Twilight Zone Comes Home” They will be showing some classic episodes of Rod Serling’s show on the big screen, readings from his family members, and the premiere of “The Carousel” .   • Ice Cream Safari at the Zoo

    Saturday night from 5:30 till 8p.m. the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park will hold their annual Ice Cream Safari. There will be five different ice cream stations for you to visit while you walk through the zoo. The first 300 kids in attendance will receive a Safari hat to wear and all the proceeds benefit the zoo. Check their website for more info.

  • Touch A Truck

    Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. The Vestal Library will host “Touch A Truck”. It’s a free event where kids can touch and learn about fire trucks, ambulances, a mini monster truck, and more. Food and ice cream will be available to purchase.
