Out with Influenza ‘A’ and bring on Type ‘B’

In the beginning of the month 648 New Yorkers were admitted to hospitals with the flu and there were more than 2,500 reported cases of the flu across New York State.

Earlier flu cases were the H-1-N-1 variety or Influenza-A, the latest cases reported in the first week of April was Influenza-B, and according to state health officials are putting more New Yorkers in the hospital.

Some people who were victims of the earlier type can get the Flu again, especially if they didn’t get the vaccine.

The Centers for disease control still recommends that if you haven’t gotten a flu shot this season that you get one.
