Ten Places To Enjoy A Game Of Tennis In The Binghamton Area
Summertime means many things to many people. It's obviously our favorite weather season. Well, at least it's mine. There are so many things you can do in the summer outside.
Maybe you love to swim, play softball or baseball, take long walks in our amazing parks, visit the many yard and garage sales that go on during the summer. The list goes on and on.
And for those of you who love to play tennis, the Southern Tier has plenty of places to play, and the courts are very impressive. Take for example, the tennis courts at Recreation Park on the Westside of Binghamton off Seminary Street. These are professional grade tennis courts and host the Binghamton Tennis Challenger every year. Unfortunately the tournament was cancelled for this year. The tennis courts are undergoing major renovations, but the tournament will return in 2022.
But most other tennis courts are back open since pandemic regulations have been relaxed. I haven't played tennis in a while, but it was one of my favorite activities do be a part of when I was in middle and high school. I wasn't a bad player, but certainly wasn't good enough to make the high school tennis team. Today, I'd probably be pretty bad at the game, although it would be fun to give it a try.
But if you love to play tennis, check out some of the great tennis courts listed below in our area to visit. This is probably not a complete list of tennis courts open to the public in our area, but it's a good representation. Check ahead to make sure that they are open and what hours they are available to the public. The photos are the most recent, courtesy of Google Maps.
