Of all the things I miss about living in New York City, Christmas is a big one. And no New York Christmas is complete without the Rockefeller Center Tree.

The excitement quickly ended last year when the tree from Oneonta arrived in New York City and was untethered to reveal a tree that looked like Charlie Brown had picked it out.

Rocky, the small owl found in the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, was nursed back to health at a wildlife center in Saugerties.

The tree came from Upstate New York as most news media outlets outside of our area mentioned. Must be it was too hard to pronounce Oneonta, New York.

A 75-foot tall, 45-foot diameter, 11-ton Norway Spruce is traveling from Daddy Al’s General Store in Oneonta to Rockefeller Center.

Having visited the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center many times I have often wondered how they transported it and set it up.
