A sport utility vehicle veered off a busy Vestal roadway, struck a guiderail and climbed a bridge abutment before crashing down on its roof.

The span over the Susquehanna River between North Main Street in Vestal and Vestal Avenue in Endicott was closed to all traffic following the crash, which happened around 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The Chevrolet SUV was traveling north when the vehicle jumped the curb.
