Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of summer. There's nothing like enjoying a cold beer while watching one of your favorite artists live in concert at an outdoor venue on a clear warm summer night. And as it the case most years, there are a lot of great concerts to choose from this summer.

You have Ozzy and Lynyrd Skynyrd both going out on their farewell tours. You have legends like John Fogerty and ZZ Top touring together. The Rolling Stones are touring again this year and Journey has teamed up with Def Leppard to hit the road. Steve Miller and Peter Frampton are playing together I'm hoping to go see them down at Bethel Woods for the Performing Arts Center this summer. I already have tickets to go see Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers up at The Lakeview Amphitheater in Syracuse. There are even some concerts coming to our area this summer. Cheap Trick will be at Spiedie Fest on Sunday, August 5th. and Eddie Money is going to be playing out at Tioga Downs on June 28th. If you are into southern rock I was giving away tickets all week to see The Southern Uprising Tour featuring; The Charlie Daniels, Band The Marshall Tucker Band, and the Outlaws at Tags in Big Flats. Speaking of ticket giveaways, starting Tuesday, I will have more tickets to give away to see Rodger Daltrey performing The Who's 'Tommy' at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.

There are a ton of great tours taking place this summer. Make sure you get to the ones you want to see. There were a lot of artists that I wanted to see in concert that have since passed away before I had the opportunity to see them live. Don't let that happen to you. Happy concert series season!
