I LOVE it that the Great New York State Fair is back for 2021. When I think of the fair, I think of great concerts at Chevy Court (and Chevy Park this year), milk for 25 cents, and roasted corn.

I also look forward to seeing the Butter Sculpture located in the Dairy Products Building. This has been a tradition for over 50 years and I find it so remarkable what they can be created out of 800 pounds of butter. We wait and wait to find out what it'll be this year and now we know.

It's a New York State Fair tradition to keep it a secret until the day before the Fair officially opens. The wait is over and now we know.

2021 New York State Fair Butter Sculpture

The theme this year is "Back to School, Sports and Play... You're Gonna Need Milk For That." The state is getting ready for the kids to return to school and recreation in just a few weeks.

The sculpture addresses the issues that the students missed during the pandemic including sports and interacting with other kids.

The Butter Sculpture will be on display for all 18 days of the New York State Fair from Friday, August 20th to Monday, September 6th.
