USA Today and the New York Times are among news organizations reporting the company, that began in Broome County, will pull hunting gear from 125 stores as its sales numbers continue to slump.

Last year, in the wake of mass-shootings, Dick's announced it would ban sales of assault-style weapons as well as high-capacity ammunition magazines and guns to anyone under the age of 21.

It’s not known if stores in Binghamton, Vestal and elsewhere in the Southern Tier are among the 125 shops to lose additional firearm inventory at the end of the summer.
