Section 4 Football Championships Decided This Weekend

The road to the state championship will continue for five high school football teams this weekend.  The Section 4 Football Championships are being held Friday evening and on Saturday afternoon and evening.

Three classifications will decide champions on Friday night.  The Class D title is up for grabs at Johnson City when Walton (8-1) faces Tioga (9-0) in a 7 PM kickoff.  The Class A championship will be decided at Union-Endicott at 7 PM when the Tigers host the Vestal Golden Bears. Both Vestal and U-E are 1-7.  Elmira (7-2) travels to Corning (8-1) for the AA Title. also set for a 7 PM start.

Wildcat Stadium in Johnson City is the site for both the Class C and Class B championship games on Saturday.  At 3 PM Windsor (7-2) meets Susquehanna Valley (9-0).  Then at 6 PM Maine-Endwell (6-3) meets Chenango Forks (9-0).

All winners advance to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association quarterfinals next weekend hosted by Section 4.
