The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are playing before a "Baseball in Education Day" crowd of students  at UPMC Park in Erie today (Thursday).  Several thousand students get a break from the usual classroom activities and get to spent some time at the ball park.  The 11:05 A.M. game comes on the heels of an extra-inning contest on Wednesday night.  In that one the Ponies scored five runs in the 11th inning to post a 7-3 win.  Joshua Torres earned the Binghamton win in relief. Today's game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio 1360 AM, online at 1360binghamton.com and via the station's free mobile app.

In today's game Joseph Shaw gets the start for ther Rumble Ponies.  Shaw is looking for his first win of the season and is 0-3.  Countering for the SeaWolves is Kyle Funkhouser with an 0-3 slate.

The Rumble Ponies are looking for their sixth win of the season at Erie this season.  They have not lost at UPMC Park in the past five starts. Binghamton has won six of the past seven games and is 28-23 which is good for third place in in the circuit's Eastern Division.

Following today's game the Rumble Ponies return home for a four-game series against New Hampshire.  The first two games of that series are scheduled as a doubleheader on Friday night beginning at 5:35 P.M.
