City officials say the paving work is expected to be done by Friday.

Crews are putting the finishing touches on a major reconstruction project costing about $6 million.

The resurfacing is being done between the Johnson City line and Beethoven Street. The paving started Tuesday morning.

Motorists will continue to be detoured on Leroy Street and side streets on the West Side until the paving operations are wrapped up.

The first phase of the Riverside Drive project which covered the section between Beethoven and Front streets began in July 2014.
