A local journalist is being remembered for his very long and storied career.

David Rossie, who penned columns for Binghamton newspapers for decades, has died at the age of 87.

Rossie died at  Wilson Hospital December 29 following what was described as a lengthy illness.

According to a long article in the Binghamton Press and Sun Bulletin, Rossie is lauded as a recipient of the HL Menckin Writing Award twice and as a nominee for the Pulitzer Prize.

Rossie was well known for, not only local news coverage, but in semi-retirement authoring nature columns.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
