Authorities say a Johnson City teenager is being held in the investigation into a shooting incident in which two people were wounded.

Village police chief Brent Dodge said a suspect in the case who has been taken into custody is a 17-year-old boy. His name and the possible charges he faces have not been released.

Dodge said detectives are still seeking about a half-dozen other people who were involved in Tuesday night's dispute on Grand Avenue near Boland Drive.

The two people who were shot sustained minor injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Dodge said one of them also sustained puncture wounds. He said it's not clear whether a knife or some other instrument was used.

In the chaotic moments as 911 calls were coming in from Grand Avenue, police believed there may have been two separate incidents. But Dodge said those who were hurt sustained injuries as a result of a dispute that started as an argument.

As detectives look for additional potential suspects in connection with this week's incident, village police continue to work with state police investigators on the March 30 fatal shooting outside the Halal Bites restaurant.
