New York Giants quarterback great Phil Simms is coming to Binghamton to be the keynote speaker at the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame Dinner on Monday, April 24 at the DoubleTree by Hilton.  Former New York Met standout Ron Darling was originally scheduled to speak but had to cancel those plans. Simms was available and will take Darling's place at the dinner.

Simms is one of the true greats of the National Football League.  He led the New York Giants to a pair of Super Bowl championships in 1987 and 1991 was was named the MVP of the Super Bowl in 1987.

Simms was selected by the New York Giants in the first round of the 1979 NFL Draft.  He became a star with the Giants and was selected for the Pro Bowl in 1985 and 1993.  He was inducted into the New York Giants "Ring of Honor" in 2010.

Following his playing career Simms turned to broadcasting and is currently the lead analyst for CBS Television Network's NFL coverage and is teamed with Jim Nantz on nationwide television.  Simms has been part of six Super Bowl broadcast teams.

This is the 3rd Annual Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame Induction Dinner and will honor ten outstanding individuals as well as the Little League World Series Champions from Maine-Endwell.
