Well, Happy Birthday Phil Lesh! He turns 78 today, but doesn't look a day over 58, if that makes sense.

Born March 15th, 1940 in Berkeley California, Phil Chapman Lesh is one of rock's foremost bass guitarists on the planet in m y opinion. He is a founding member of a rock group you may have heard of - The Grateful Dead.

In later years after the Grateful Dead, he played with The Other Ones, The Dead and Phil Lesh and Friends. These days, you will find him continuing to be busy on the music scene including concert tours with Bob Weir.

Phil is in the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame alongside the other members of the Grateful Dead. For this week's Classic Rock Pick, enjoy Phil and The Grateful Dead performing Ripple at Radio City Music Hall In New York City on Halloween 1980.
