Peter Criss Announces ‘Final Live Performance in the U.S.A.’
Former Kiss drummer Peter Criss is set to say farewell later this year with a pair of convention appearances that are being billed as his final live performances.
Criss' official site offers details regarding the events, the first of which is scheduled to take place at the "Kiss Konvention Australia" from May 12-14 in Victoria, Australia. Per the Konvention's Facebook feed, the itinerary includes a Criss dinner performance that's being billed as "One Last Time," and is referred to on Criss' site as his final live performance in Australia. Tickets are on sale now, with a "VIP Full Tour" pass priced at AUD $2623.49 (roughly $1990 in American money).
The following month, Criss is scheduled to appear at the New York Kiss Expo, which his site lists as taking place from June 9-11 with "times and locations to be announced." Attendees can reportedly expect a "meet and greet experience" as well as a "New York landmark tour" and special guests at the expo itself. On June 16, Criss is scheduled to deliver his "final live performance in the U.S.A." at a VIP dinner show.
Criss' 2017 appearances represent something of a limited reprieve from his earlier retirement announcement, which surfaced right around the time he was set to take part in the New Jersey Kiss Expo in 2012 — an event that was billed as "one last hurrah."
Fans of Criss' solo work continue to wait for his next solo outing, which he teased in a 2014 interview while admitting he'd been tinkering with the tracks far longer than arguably necessary. "I’ve been sitting on a record … I’d done this thing like five years ago and I’m still messing with it," admitted Criss. "I’m not done, because I don’t want to rush it. The sad thing is, you put music out today, and you download it immediately."
