NYSEG: Sandy’s Fierce Winds Could Leave Some Areas Without Power for Days

NYSEG President Mark Lynch posted the following on their website today. “Most importantly, we urge our customers to stay safe during and after the storm.”“The first phase of the service restoration process, damage assessment, will not begin until the storm passes, perhaps on Wednesday, so we ask that customers be prepared for a long duration event,” Lynch said.

NYSEG customers should call 1.800.572.1131 to report downed wires

Please heed the declarations and stay off the roads. Powerlines are very difficult to see at night and you could be in harm's way. Sustained winds will approach 40-50 miles per hour overnight.
