In 1969
Creedence Clearwater Revival released the album "Willy & The Poor Boys."

In 1971
The Allman Brothers Band guitarist Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle accident near his home of Macon, Georgia.  He was 24. (long live the king of the slide guitar)

In 1977
Meat Loaf released the album "Bat Out Of Hell." (What a great Album)

In 1981
Rush released the album "Exit...Stage Left." (Snaglepuss git the first copy)

In 1984
Bryan Adams released the album "Reckless." (And it was)

In 1991
Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble released the album "The Sky Is Crying."

In 2001
Boz Scaggs made a guest appearance on the TV show "Ally McBeal." (Loved him with the Seahawks)

In 2002
Carlos Santana performed with Michelle Branch at a basketball pre-game special before a match between the Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs.

In 2003
Joan Jett appeared on the TV show "Crossing Over with John Edward," to serve as a conduit for friends trying to connect with their daughter, who had recently passed away.

No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani launched her new clothing line, L.A.M.B.

In 2004
Bruce Springsteen and Bette Midler participated in a campaign rally for Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry in Miami, Florida. (and how did that work out?)

Orleans frontman John Hall complained that the Republican Party was using the group's 1976 hit "Still the One" without permission at campaign rallies in support of President Bush.  While Bush's campaign spokeswoman said the song would be cut from the program, it cropped up at an event later in the day in Columbus, Ohio.  A campaign spokesman explained that its airing was unintentional, noting the song was part of a video montage.

In 2005
The Voodoo Music Experience took place in New Orleans, becoming the first major event in the city since Hurricane Katrina two months earlier.  Nine Inch Nails, The New York Dolls, Queens of the Stone Age, and The Bravery were among the performers.

Sammy Hagar and Michael McDonald took part in celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse's inaugural Carnivale Du Vin benefit at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans.

Fats Domino was back at his New Orleans home salvaging some Gold records and other possessions from his flood-ravaged Lower Ninth Ward home.

In 2006
The Rolling Stones performed a special club show at the Beacon Theater in New York in honor of former President Bill Clinton's 60th birthday.  Backstage, Atlantic Records executive Ahmet Ertegun suffered a head injury in a fall.  He later slipped into a coma, and died several weeks later.

Wolfmother was a big winner at the 2006 ARIA Awards, Australia's equivalent to the Grammys.  In addition, Midnight Oil was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

In 2008
Phil Spector's murder retrial began in Los Angeles.

In 2009
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Stevie Wonder, Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Friends were among the performers for the first of two concerts at New York's Madison Square Garden celebrating the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 25th anniversary.

In 2010
Devo received the first-ever "Moog Innovation Award" at MoogFest, an event honoring the late synthesizer pioneer Robert Moog, in Asheville, North Carolina.  But Mark Mothersbaugh and Gerald Casale were the only band members to attend the event.  While the group was originally expected to perform, a few days earlier guitarist Bob Mothersbaugh underwent emergency surgery after suffering a severe cut to his hand.
