As of early Saturday afternoon, the Tioga County health department had released no information about a positive coronavirus case.

The Tompkins County health department reported it was notified by the state of a positive case analyzed at a state lab. The sample was sent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for confirmation.

Cuomo revealed that an 82-year-old woman with emphysema had contracted coronavirus and died in a New York City hospital. That is the first death linked to COVID-19 in the state.

The state prison system announced visitation at all New York correctional facilities would be suspended at 5 p.m. Saturday.

During the temporary visitation restriction, inmates will receive five free postage stamps per week. They also will be able to communicate with family and friends through two free secure messages per week through secure tablet and one free phone call per week.
